Common 3D Printer Issues and How to Fix Them

3D printers are amazing tools — but they’re also finicky. Here’s a quick guide to solving common issues we’ve seen (and fixed) many times.

🟡 1. First Layer Not Sticking

  • Level your bed carefully (manual or assisted)
  • Ensure the nozzle is clean and not too high
  • Use glue stick or hairspray if needed

🔴 2. Filament Not Extruding

  • Check for clogs in the nozzle or heatbreak
  • Make sure your filament isn’t tangled or wet
  • Heat up and do a cold pull to clean out debris

🟠 3. Warping or Corners Lifting

  • Use a heated bed with the right temperature
  • Try a brim or raft in your slicer
  • Enclose the printer for larger prints

🔵 4. Layer Shifting

  • Check belt tension — not too loose or too tight
  • Make sure the printer is on a stable surface
  • Inspect stepper drivers and cooling fans
